FILLED: CRITICAL BREAKS Composer/Musician

Hi-ARTS is currently accepting applications for a temporary Composer/Musician. This temporary position will support Hi-ARTS' CRITICAL BREAKS Artist Evelyn Tejeda during their March 2025 Residency. This position will involve both remote and in-person collaboration, culminating in the development of original music for Temporary Flesh, Evelyn’s latest work in progress. In-person days will take place primarily at El Barrio's Artspace PS109 in East Harlem, home of Hi-ARTS.

Ideal candidates will be multifaceted musicians with the ability to navigate various genres, have experience creating music digitally and incorporating live instrumentation (playing multiple instruments is a plus), have previous experience composing for contemporary dance and collaborating with dancers/choreographers, and be responsible, communicative, and adaptable to the evolving needs of the creative process.
