Health & Safety Protocols
Last updated: 2/15/2023
COVID-19, RSV and flu are spreading in NYC this winter season. The New York City Health Department strongly recommends everyone to wear masks in all indoor public settings to reduce the spread of these viruses.
For the safety of our audiences, artists, staff and community, Hi-ARTS requires that all audiences wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth when attending an indoor Hi-ARTS event. Masks will be provided for those who may be in need of a mask. We recommend N95, KN95, and Surgical Mask for the highest protection.
While Hi-ARTS will not be asking for Proof of Vaccination, or for a negative text, we encourage you to take a Rapid or PCR test within 24 hours of arrival to Artspace PS109.
If you are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, or not feeling well we ask that you please stay home and recommend that you take a COVID-19 and seek medical attention.
Please Note:
There is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public space where people are present. While Hi-ARTS is taking measures to minimize the risk of such exposure, we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during your time in our facilities. By entering Artspace PS109, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Hi-ARTS, or any of its directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.
Hi-ARTS’ Health & Safety Protocols are subject to change.
What Else Is Hi-ARTS Doing?
We ask that our Artists test on a weekly basis when they are present in our space.
We encourage our staff, and visitors to get tested regularly for COVID-19 and ask that they test when gathering in person for collaborative work with one another.
We encourage our staff, artists, and visitors to wear masks on public transportation and in public indoor spaces. Masks are available for free in our facilities, along with hand sanitizer.
In conversation with Artspace PS109, we are restricting capacity in each space contingent upon planned activity.
We are using a portable air purifier.
We are using a spray disinfectant machine to regularly disinfect spaces.
Additional Information
Wearing Masks
Research has shown that wearing a mask helps protect the person who is wearing it and helps prevent people — including those who have COVID-19 and do not know it — from spreading the virus to others.
Getting Vaccinated
Getting a COVID-19 vaccination is a safe way to prevent COVID-19 in yourself and in others. We encourage you to learn more about the COVID-19 Vaccines and to stay up to date with your vaccinations. Being up to date means getting additional does when eligible and safe for your current health status.
