Spell #2: Things Take Time is an excerpt from the forthcoming evening-length choreopoem, PURPLE: A Ritual In Nine Spells, devised and performed by the SLMDances collective. PURPLE illuminates the power of “deep sisterhood for social change” through ritualistic dance theater. It is iterative, based on oral & embodied herstories, centers sacred rituals, honors feedback and collective decision-making, and is inspired by beloved ancestor Ntozake Shange.
This work was researched and developed with support from Lincoln Center Education Community Artist in Residence Program and Gibney's Solo for Solo with generous contributions from SHS Foundation.

Artspace PS109 is an ADA-compliant building. Elevators are available via the main entrance, and all restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
