FILLED: The Stranger Project Participants

Hi-ARTS SKY LAB Artist Yang Sun is inviting those who identity as a first or second generation immigrant and/or resident alien to join her in the development and public Work in Process sharing of The Stranger. To learn more about Yang Sun and The Stranger, please click here.
The Stranger sits at the intersection of dance and installation, delving into the stories of immigrants and resident aliens in the United States across generations. Participants will share their story and be prepared to engage in choreographed movement. No dance, theater or performance experience is necessary.
Participants will be awarded a $100 Visa Gift Card for participation. Please submit form no later than October 16, 2024 for consideration.
Participant Qualifications
Ages 16+
All genders, races and ethnicities are welcome
Immigrant identifying - first or second generation; Resident alien.
Bodies of all physical abilities across the spectrum of neurodiversity
Be willing to share a personal story reflecting on your experiences as an immigrant and/or resident alien
Be willing to engages in group choreographed movement. Movement is pedestrian such as walking, sitting, lifting an arm or leg, etc. No previous dance experience is necessary or required
Be able to speak and/or understand: English, Mandarin, and/or Spanish
Be able to commit to all project dates.
